GM Awards Hamtramck Energy Services With Powerhouse/Wastewater Treatment Plant Services Contract

Detroit, Mich. (April 21, 2011) – Hamtramck Energy Services (HES) today announced receipt of a multi-year contract from General Motors (GM) for the operation of three GM powerhouse and wastewater treatment facilities: a powerhouse and wastewater treatment system in Bay City, MI and wastewater treatment systems in Warren, MI and Arlington, TX.

As one of GM’s preferred vendors for powerhouse and wastewater services, HES delivers expert, cost-effective management, operations, maintenance, and environmental compliance for these facilities. This contract reflects a growing trend at GM and other manufacturers to outsource day-to-day powerhouse and wastewater treatment operations to highly qualified private contractors.

According to Rob Threlkeld, Manager of Supply Contracts at General Motors, “Hamtramck Energy Services is a valued partner to us in ensuring that our assembly plants have a clean, reliable energy supply and highly efficient wastewater treatment support.”

HES already provides third-party expertise in managing and staffing GM powerhouses at four other locations in Michigan and Louisiana, including GM’s Shreveport, LA assembly plant, where just recently, HES added four additional power plant operators to its staff. The new operators, seasoned experts in automotive powerhouse operations, joined the HES Site Utility Manager, who has been at the facility for the past six months.

“We’re pleased to expand our working relationship with GM by bringing unique energy and wastewater treatment skills, and highly qualified professionals, to GM’s daily operations,” said Richard Pucak, President of Hamtramck Energy Services. Mr. Pucak also announced that HES has hired John Misaros as a Project Coordinator for the new GM facilities. Mr. Misaros joins HES with over 15 years of experience in powerhouse and wastewater plant operations, including nine GM facilities.
